Summer is in full swing, which to some, means vacations, and spending time with family. To others, it means CHAOS!! There's ball games, swimming lessons, trips to pack for, kids are out of school, slumber parties, appointments to make, appointments to cancel, and on top of it all, regular everyday life has to happen in there somewhere.
When....err, should I say, IF, you slow down...what do you do with your time? Do you take that time to rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul? Are you laughing yet? More often than not, when we get time to slow down, we either try to fit in one more load of laundry, or go to bed. Instead of heading to bed exhausted just to wake up the next morning and do it all again, we have found that it is more beneficial to rejuvenate. Not only will you sleep better, you will truly rest, and wake refreshed. It's so important to start the day with restored energy! This isn't just about a bedtime routine though, it's about finding time, in every day to take care of yourself, to love yourself, and to know that you are worthy of that time.
Here's a few ideas:
Cook your favorite meal
Have an unplugged day, or if that's unrealistic, an unplugged hour
Take a long(er) than normal bath or shower
Meditate for 30 minutes, if that sounds hard, try to mediate for 1 hour, LOL.
Buy a fancy bottle of wine
Get a massage
Listen to your favorite music
Read a book
Do a 30 minute workout
Grab a cup of coffee, and go for a walk
Light your favorite candles Wear your favorite perfume
Yoga
Get out into nature
Buy fresh flowers
Just be. Breathe in. Breathe out.
